A Little Discussed Source of Exhaustion

Open tabs slow down your internet processing speed. What do you think they do to your internal processing speed?

Keeping things open, undecided, and undefined burns up a lot of energy.

Even if you aren’t consciously aware of it, your brain is in the background working, worrying, weighing options, and overthinking.

Why do we do this to ourselves? 😫

The reason we do this is twofold:

1. The belief that more time to think = better decisions.

2. Our brain’s protective tendency to want to keep things vague and nebulous.

These two things combined can nearly slow us down to a halt sometimes.

And, believe it or not, that’s exactly what our brains want most.

To exert little to no effort.

If that sounds lazy, it's because it is.

“But it's purposeful laziness.” - Says your brain 🧠.

If your brain can keep you in inaction and indecision, then it thinks it's conserving energy and keeping you safe and cozy wozy instead of risking wasted energy and potential injury or death.

It's like the well-meaning parent who never teaches their kid how to ride a bike because they don’t want them to fall. Sure, they protect them from potential injury, but they also protect them from the joy, thrill, and independence of learning a new skill and being able to explore the world on two wheels!

A healthy & aligned mindset is the parent who preps their kiddo for a ride, walks and runs with them, and is right there for them when they fall. They encourage their little love to get back on and ride again. Knowing that surely they will fall again and also knowing it’s worth the risk.

When it comes to you, your brain, and your life, the problem is that you are not one to not get shit done. You are ambitious. So this approach leaves you standing there, almost glitching out, burning up fuel, in a holding pattern of sorts. Waiting for the perfect place to land.

When all you had to do was define where you wanted to land and make it happen.

Sounds easy enough right?

Listen, it's simple. Not easy.

Thinking more doesn’t necessarily make a decision easier or guarantee a better outcome.

However, I am not advocating for haste.

The message here is:

How many decisions are floating around in the background that really don’t deserve that kind of energy?

Probably more than you think.

How much energy is burnt up in worry about the unkown?

Probably more than you think.

LISTEN, YOU CAN ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS AND FEEL GOOD WHILE YOU DO IT!

That’s the work.

Let’s close those tabs.

Leave over-thinking, overwhelm, and imposter syndrome in the dust and unapologetically create what you truly desire.

LIKE THE GODDESS YOU ARE.

If you are ready to close those tabs, land that plane, and create the life you want and the business to support it, then girl… what are you waiting for? We are talking. your LIFE here!

you know what to do.
