Self Doubt, a Self Fulfilling Prophecy

Dear Wild Heart,

There was a time that I doubted myself at every turn. This had me swinging from analysis paralysis to making quick impulsive decisions. Which typically resulted in outcomes that I didn't love. And that would feed into my self doubt. It was a self fulfilling prophecy. I had to disrupt the whole pattern if I wanted to one day have self confidence. I couldn't just keep trying to make better decisions with the same mind that believed I wasn't capable of doing so.

So here is what I did instead:

❤️‍🔥 I listed out some examples of when self doubt showed up in my life.

❤️‍🔥 I dug a little deeper with each one to discover the underlying beliefs and internal stories that were driving the doubt & I questioned each and every one.

❤️‍🔥 I found more empowering thoughts to practice that I could believe at least a little.

❤️‍🔥 I detailed out a 12 week plan for how to start practicing making decisions from self trust, giving myself specific targets. From small things like going shopping with friends and deciding to buy something without anyone’s input to things like when I needed to make a decision for my business, not giving it more than a day.

❤️‍🔥 I came up with a goal of feeling at least 50% more confident and self assured.

❤️‍🔥 I decided that even if things didn’t pan out as I had hoped for each decision I made, I would hold a boundary of only speaking to myself with kindness and respect.

❤️‍🔥 I implemented nervous system regulating techniques so that I could hold space inside for my discomfort without running from it or defaulting to analysis paralysis or impulse.

❤️‍🔥 I checked in with myself regularly to see how I was progressing and if I needed to make any adjustments.

❤️‍🔥 I cemented the self trust and confidence into my psyche by celebrating every win, no matter how small.

Was this easy? Nope. I had years of self doubt layered inside of me to unearth. But I gave myself the space and the grace to actually change.

And I am so glad I did.

I increased my confidence by 80%! And there were some additional unexpected benefits. My favorite one being that I had A LOT more energy because I wasn’t burning it all up in indecision anymore! This is how I created my Wild Hearted Breakthrough Process, the same one that I use daily for myself now and with my clients. Results that have been created with this process include:
